High School Visits Italy

The group in front of St. Peter's Basilica in Rome. Click on the image to enlarge it.

During spring break a group of 20 parents and students, accompanied by Cathie Mueller, Diana Daub and Brad Kimbrough, traveled to Italy. Over the week they visited Rome, Florence, Venice and Sienna. In Rome they visited the Colosseum, Parthenon, Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps, and other points of interest. In Florence they had a guided tour through the city, toured museums and the Leaning Tower of Pisa, and enjoyed some shopping. From Florence they drove to Venice, where they went to a glass blowing demonstration, a lace factory, St. Marks Square, Doges Palace, and more of the many sites Venice has to offer. Before returning to Rome they stopped in the Tuscan region for a short stay in Sienna.
It was an amazing trip! Thanks to Mrs. Mueller for coordinating it, and also to the teacher and parent chaperones.

Kindergarten Tea Party

Each spring, after learning about Beatrix Potter and reading her wonderful books about Peter Rabbit and his friends, we have a Beatrix Potter Kindergarten Tea Party. This year, our tea party was held at the home of Tabitha and Peyton's grandparents, Brooks and Marilyn Bower. A big thank you to the Bowers for opening up their home to us, and to all of the kindergarten parents who helped make this day such a special occasion!

High School Spanish Club

At a recent Spanish Club meeting, members learned how to make tortillas. After cooking them, they enjoyed them with salsa and cheese. The Spanish Club will have their last meeting of the year in May--don't miss it!

The 2008 Walden Prom was held April 18th at the Louisville Water Tower. The effort that the senior class put into the event certainly showed--it was a beautiful night! Everyone had a wonderful time. Thanks to all the teachers who chaperoned, the parents who helped out, and everyone who attended.
