WPA Meeting Minutes Tuesday Dec. 9th 2008 8.10 am.
Minutes from last meeting were approved.
Diane Smith chaired the meeting in Stacy Nickle’s absence.

Treasurer also paid the remaining balance from stage curtain ($7,326.50).
Innisbrook and Coupon Books still need to be paid.
Committee Reports:
Operation Spirit
Currently on the Walden web-site. All are encouraged to register
on the Operation Spirit website www.operationspirit.org . Online
registration will help to keep the numbers registered accurate.
Alice Gob will continue to promote the program. Operation Spirit
will take place at Walden School in the library on Tuesday evenings
from 7:00 pm – 8:00 pm and on Wednesday mornings from 8:00 am –
9:00 am running from January 13th and 14th to March 3rd and 4th.
Information will be sent out to all Walden families. The program
will also be promoted outside the school. It was suggested to Alice
that she inform Carroll Frey to expect outside phone calls regarding
the program. In the event that the registered number appears large
then two groups will be formed.
Hospitality
All set for the lunch on Thursday the 11th. Grape Leaf will be catering.
High School
Linda Bowles invited all to submit articles/information for the
High School
Communications Newsletter. Deadline is the same as the WPA newsletter.
Other
Child Connection is available to speak to the WPA on February the
10th for a $500.00 honorarium. A question was raised as to whether
this speaker would run parallel with Operation Spirit? Linda VanHouten
and Alice Gob feel that Child Connection reaches out at a deeper
level. They focus on teaching internet safety to adults. A motion
was made for Child Connection and to approve the honorarium. All
present voted in favor of having the Child Connection Speaker at
the February 10th WPA meeting. The $500.00 honorarium was also agreed
to. Stacy Nickle will put information in the WPA Newsletter. Deadline
for the newsletter is December 18th.
Joanna Conover (Walden College Counselor) will speak at the next
WPA meeting.
We will also talk about fundraisers and the school’s wish list.

to everyone that a group photo will be taken.
