Walden School: Middle School
Walden recognizes that Middle School students are in transition. That’s precisely the reason that we begin Middle School with the 5th grade. We see that year as aiding in your student’s gradual transition from the self-contained elementary classroom to the more departmentalized subject-area classroom setting. They are ready for more independence, yet they still require guidance and support to prepare them for the rigors of the High School's college preparatory program.

The Middle School faculty works as a team, emphasizing the interrelationship among the academic subject areas. The student-faculty ratio is low and the level of individual attention is high. Students explore the sciences, math, social sciences, geography, literature and language. Computer, spanish, art, music, drama and band are also offered. Teachers are available if a student requires extra attention.

Students take monthly educational field trips as well as an overnight trip to a city with historical importance. Students are encouraged to participate in the school's community service clubs and projects. Walden Middle School provides a well-rounded education that makes the transition to High School much easier.
