Walden School: High School
A student’s final four years at Walden are typically ones of accelerated growth and reward. Walden High School students benefit from a highly individualized, intellectually challenging approach to preparing for college. Classes are small, independent work is encouraged, and the curriculum is rigorous and comprehensive. Walden’s continuity of education is designed to instill a love for learning that enables students to become creative, innovative thinkers, as well as productive, successful members of society.

  • Student to teacher ratio -- 7:1
  • Average Class Size -- 10
  • Teachers with advanced degrees -- 80%
  • Average years of teaching experience -- 15
The success of Walden’s high school program is demonstrated by the fact that 100% of Walden graduates matriculate on to colleges and universities and earn substantial scholarship money in the process. Walden School has a dedicated college counselor – not distracted by scheduling or discipline responsibilities – who begins working with students in the 9th grade to match their talents, interests, and abilities with the appropriate institution, who helps them with their college research, and guides them personally through the application process.

One of the most unique and rewarding aspects of high school at Walden, noted by parents and students alike, is what’s NOT there…no cliques or exclusive groups, no stratified social structure. It’s a place where students feel free to be themselves and where they do more than tolerate diversity and individuality, they embrace them.
