Walden WPA

Mission Statement: The WPA supports Walden School’s mission and cultivates an atmosphere of volunteerism, fellowship, respect, and open communication among parents, students and staff, as well as supports fundraising, social, and educational activities for Walden School and the community at large.

Every Walden parent is a member of the WPA.

You have the privilege and opportunity of taking part in decisions that directly affect your children. WPA meetings are held the second Tuesday of every month at 8 am in Tucker Assembly Hall. Your opinions DO count, so please take part and join us at these meetings. The WPA will also feature a few special meetings with guest speakers on “hot topics”. During our first meeting of the school year, you’ll have the opportunity to meet members of Walden’s Board of Trustees and ask questions.

Last year, the WPA proudly purchased SMARTBoards, patio furniture for the library courtyard, microscopes for the high school science labs, 9 amplified audio systems for classroom use, a new stage curtain and blinds for Tucker Assembly Hall and had TAH painted with the school colors.

WPA Volunteer Opportunities

Being an independent school and a small community, we are grateful to all who volunteer their time, efforts, talents and resources to Walden School. Mothers, Fathers, Aunts, Uncles, Grandparents, Brothers, Sisters and Friends – everyone is welcome! And everyone benefits - students, teachers, staff, and especially YOU. Become a special friend to Walden School and experience the true rewards of service.

If you would like to become involved in any of the events mentioned, but are unable to attend WPA meetings, please contact Stacy Nickle, WPA President, by phone or email or drop a note to her via Carroll Frey in the office (893-0433). She will be happy to put you in contact with the appropriate chairperson that will best serve your volunteering talents.
