High School
Walden teachers are certified to teach 15 Advanced Placement courses. The Advanced Placement Program, generally referred to as AP classes, is administered by the non-profit College Board. AP classes are designed to prepare a student to do college-level work. Seven of Walden's high school faculty members have approved curriculum in subjects ranging from literature, math, physics, chemistry, biology, environmental science, Spanish, psychology, geography and history.
The students take their AP course exams in May. The tests are designed to measure a student's ability to do college-level work. A score of 3 or above (the top score is 5) indicates that a student is meeting this standard. A student may earn college credit or advanced standing at the college or university of their choice.
