"It is safest to invest in knowledge …you can carry that with you wherever you go." -- Henry David Thoreau Independent Schools such as Walden depend on the generosity of trustees, faculty, parents, alumni, grandparents, former parents and friends to provide the outstanding education each student deserves. One of the most important ways to support the school is with a gift to the Walden Fund. Income from the Walden Fund helps offset the cost of tuition because tuition alone only covers about 85% of the operating costs. The Walden Fund is important because it preserves our unique educational environment. This donated income insures small classroom settings and outstanding teachers. Gifts to the Walden Fund contribute to teacher salaries, teacher professional development, classroom resources and financial aid for deserving students Every gift, no matter the size, provides lasting and important value. To be successful, we need the strong support of all our families, alumni and friends.
