2003 - 04 Annual Fund

Goal: $300.00 per family

Endowment Fund

Goal:  $25.00 per family

Why Does Walden School Conduct An Annual Fund?

Tuition covers only 85% of the cost of operating expense.  Revenue from the Annual Fund and Auction make up the difference.

How does Walden use my Annual Fund gift?

Annual Fund gifts are used to maintain excellence in the classroom. Gifts are invested in valuable resources to enhance and enrich the student’s academic experience.

Who can contribute to the Annual Fund?

Gifts are welcomed from parents, Walden alumni, faculty, staff, grandparents, former faculty, former parents, and special friends.

When should I make my gift to the Annual Fund?

Gifts are welcomed at any time.  However, the appeal to Walden families takes place in September.  Many families pledge their gift in September and pay it in installments during the year.

How will I know if my company has a Matching Gift Program?

Personnel in your company’s human resources department can advise you regarding corporate giving and provide you with the necessary information to process this request.

Can I give securities?

Donors who wish to give securities should place the securities with a broker, bank or agent to arrange for the transfer to Walden.  All gifts of securities are converted to cash.

What is the Endowment Fund?

Gifts to this fund are invested and a percentage of the earned interest is applied to student need.  The principal of the fund remains invested to yield annual income throughout the life of Walden.

Who benefits from the Endowment Fund?

Earned income from the Endowment Fund provides scholarships for deserving students.

Can I donate to this fund when I make my Annual Fund Gift?

Beginning this year, you can designate a portion of your Annual Fund gift to the Endowment Fund or add an additional amount for the Endowment.   The goal as in the past is $25 per family, but any amount will be appreciated.

What are the tax benefits when I give to the Annual Fund or Endowment Fund?

All monetary gifts to the Annual Fund and or the Endowment Fund are tax deductible according to federal regulations.  You will receive a receipt form for tax purposes.
