2005 Walden Auction

6:00 pm

The Olmsted

We hope to see you at the Auction.  Look for your invitation in the mail at the end of January.  Tickets are $45 per person, and 100% of the profits will benefit Walden School.  In addition to being the largest fundraiser for the school, it is a fun evening out that offers something for everyone--a chance to mingle, fine food and beverage and lots of fabulous shopping!

Bidding will begin at 6:00 PM on silent auction items, which will include an amazing selection of items including an air hockey table, stainless steel patio heater, foosball table, a special Derby Hat selection, toys, service certificates for dining and entertainment and special projects created by Walden students.  A live auction and raffle drawings will follow the dinner.

This year’s auction will feature three raffle drawings.   The main raffle will have three cash prizes for Win, Place and Show -- $5,000, $750 and $250 respectively.   You can buy a ticket from your favorite Walden student.

A second raffle has special interest for the ladies.  When you buy a chance on this raffle you get something special – you pick your favorite purse from a fabulous selection of handbags.  The raffle ticket is in the handbag and will be drawn after dinner.  You are a winner either way:  you keep the handbag (because you can never have enough purses, right?) and you have a chance to win a Grand Prize!

And for the gentlemen, there is a selection of golf shirts from major thoroughbred tracks from around the world.  Guests can select any shirt they want…attached to each shirt is a number.  If that number is drawn after dinner, you are a Grand Prize winner.  But you keep the shirt either way.  Great value for a great school!

Artist and Walden parent Meg Wilburn is creating stunning centerpieces for each table—an etched glass candleholder featuring images associated with horse racing.  These centerpieces can be purchased the night of the Auction.

A girl can never have too many purses! High school students show off just a few of the purses that will be part of a special auction raffle.
