Alumni Welcome Graduates at Luncheon on May 15
The Alumni-Senior Luncheon was held on May 15, at Captain’s Quarters. This annual event officially welcomes the graduates to membership in the Alumni Association. Ms. Joanna Conover introduced the class of 2008. Each senior spoke about their plans for school and career. The class of 2008 earned $1,592,200 in scholarships and received acceptance at forty colleges and universities. Each student received an engraved photo album as a keepsake from the school.
The new Walden Alumni are Kathleen Anderson, Chris Berry, Grace Bloom, Evan Feldkamp, Brittany Fuller, Chris Gentry, Briquelle Hoppes, George Johnson, Jeffrey Jones, Cameron Ratliff, Patrick Schmidt, Mac Schneider, Tim Slaven, Jeff Smith, Olivia Tyler, and Kristin Wells
Martha Clark Inspires Graduates with Commencement Address
Mrs. Martha Clark, a teacher for 42 years, the last nine at Walden as the AP English teacher, retired in May. Mrs. Clark was the commencement speaker at the graduation. Jessi (2006) is majoring in art at the University of Louisville. A small showing of some of her paintings and mixed media is currently on display at “The Gallery” at J. Shepherd, 1429 Bardstown Road.

Walden Extends Sympathy
Walden extends sympathy to the family of Jonathan Yarden,’83. Jonathan was a computer programmer and systems administrator for Bluegrass.net. He is survived by his wife Alison, daughter Jordan, and his parents.
