At Walden, academic, cultural, and religious differences are acknowledged, respected, and celebrated. In partnership with families, Walden School assists students in acquiring the knowledge, skills, and values needed to succeed and to accept responsibility for their lives in a changing world. Walden fosters an educational environment in which academic and intellectual development is complemented by a concern for moral, physical, and psychological growth. We believe that development in all these areas is necessary to play an effective role in a multicultural society. Walden recognizes that there are differences in the rates and patterns of growth and development in each individual student. In truth, the school was designed to accommodate those differences by providing a uniquely individualized educational experience. Through small class size, a carefully planned and frequently reviewed college preparatory curriculum, and continuous professional excellence in the faculty, Walden provides guidance and assistance in all aspects of the students’ educational and personal growth. It’s our philosophy that it isn’t only students who attend Walden; families do. The support and participation of parents is critical to the success and well-being of their student. Walden has an extraordinarily active Parents Association, a governing Board of Trustees in which parents of Walden students are well represented, and a wide range of family activities such as Grandparents Day, Donuts with Dad, Muffins with Mom, the Auction, an annual Thanksgiving lunch, and an open visitation policy. All of these encourage a closer parent - school relationship. Learn more About Walden: |
